Some lessons shape more than the mind — they shape the heart. The Palestine History Curriculum was created with this purpose: to help young people understand not only the history of Palestine, but their own responsibility toward justice, dignity, and compassion.
For Muslims, Palestine is more than a place. It is a land blessed by Allah (swt), walked upon by prophets, and home to Masjid al-Aqsa — a sacred trust that lives deep in our faith and identity. Yet many students grow up knowing only fragments of its story. This curriculum brings clarity, depth, and meaning to that story.
Students learn how Palestine has been shaped by prophets, civilizations, and centuries of Islamic leadership. They discover how the Muslim Ummah, once united under a khilafah, strived to establish a system that helped protect sacred places such as Masjid al-Aqsa. History teaches a powerful lesson: when unity and responsibility were strong, al-Aqsa was protected — and when they weakened, it was painfully lost. This is not taught as politics, but as a reminder of stewardship, accountability, and duty before Allah (swt).
Across seven engaging modules, students explore the spiritual importance of Palestine, the resilience (sumud) of its people, the impact of the Nakba, and the global responsibility of Muslims to stand for justice with wisdom and compassion.
More than anything, this curriculum empowers young people — to speak with knowledge, act with integrity, and carry their faith with confidence in the world.
This is more than a course.
It is a journey of learning, a call to conscience, and a responsibility to remember.
Each module has a lesson plan accompanied by handouts and assessments, developed separately for middle school grades 7 to 9 and high school grades 10 to 12. Each module includes maps, presentations, and differentiation strategies, making it comprehensive and adaptable to different global regions and varying educational expectations. The modules can be taught over a few sessions or expanded into a full semester, depending on how deeply the teacher and students wish to engage. Our aim is to create a meaningful learning experience that helps students understand their history and reflect on how holding firmly to the rope of Allah (swt) empowers Muslims.
