What We Offer
ICI offers a decolonized Islamic educational framework that empowers educators to nurture hearts and minds with the values of justice, mercy, and purpose.
Rooted in an Islamic worldview, our curriculum upholds amr bil maʿrūf (enjoining good) and nahy ʿan al-munkar (forbidding wrong), equipping students to recognize and resist injustice with clarity and courage.
Whether you teach one lesson or a full unit, you are helping shape individuals of conscience—those who stand firmly for haqq.
Developed by Muslim educators. Designed to nurture critical thinkers who uphold truth and recognize—and resist—oppression. A generation prepared to challenge systems of secularism and imperialism, and to work toward more just and equitable societies.
Here’s how we’re making a difference:

Here’s how we’re making a difference:
- Faith-Based Framework: Rooted in an Islamic worldview, the curriculum integrates tarbiyyah based teachings with historical and cultural lessons.
- Age-Appropriate Learning: Tailored content for every age group, from foundational topics for young learners to critical discussions for teens.
- Practical and Classroom Ready: Provides complete lesson plans, worksheets, and discussion prompts that can be easily implemented in classrooms or at home.
- Integrated Cross-Curricular Connections: Blends subjects like history, geography, faith, and ethics to provide a holistic learning experience.
For All Grade Levels
At ICI, we provide curriculum materials that engage students with knowledge, rooted identity, moral clarity, and a commitment to truth. From foundational lessons for young learners to deeper conversations with teens, our resources support educators in cultivating critical thinking, grounded faith, and a conscious connection to the world.
Our first curriculum series begins with Palestine—exploring the Nakba, Zionism, sumūd, resistance, and the enduring spiritual and moral legacy of the land. Future series will continue to address global and ethical issues through a decolonized Islamic lens.

Strengthening the Bond:
Teaching Palestine as a Core of Faith & Identity
Palestine is not just a cause—it is a litmus test of our moral clarity, a reflection of our connection to faith, justice, and the Ummah. Yet many students grow up disconnected from its meaning, unaware of its central place in Islamic history, collective identity, and the ongoing struggle for truth.
Our curriculum places Palestine where it belongs: at the heart of how students understand justice, faith, and responsibility. It equips educators with the tools to teach confidently and consciously—making Palestine not a footnote, but a formative part of identity.
Together, we strive to place al-Aqsa and Palestine where they belong—in the hearts and minds of our students.

Our Mission
Empowering Educators, Uplifting the Ummah
The Islamic Curriculum Initiative (ICI) came together in November 2023 as a response to the global call for urgent, sound, and principled educational resources on Palestine—grounded in the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the enduring tradition of Muslim scholarship.
Our mission is to empower educators with the tools, resources, and lesson plans they need to raise students who are resilient, informed, and engaged with the world through an Islamic worldview.
We believe education is not simply about information—it is about cultivating conviction, critical thought, and clarity. When we teach Palestine, or any issue of justice, we are not just teaching history—we are shaping a generation rooted in responsibility to the Ummah and guided by the values of truth and justice.

Our Vision
Restoring Purpose to Education
Our vision is to build an online hub that supports educators in delivering lessons through an Islamic, decolonized lens—preparing students to engage with global issues in a meaningful and principled way.
The events following October 7 further exposed the manipulation of narratives and the deep-rooted injustice in global discourse. The aftershocks of colonialism continue to shape education and culture, often stripping students of moral clarity and connection. ICI is working to respond with curricula that restore truth to the center.
We integrate Palestine—not as a niche topic, but as a vital case study that teaches awareness, critical thinking, and resilience. And we are committed to developing further resources that explore global justice issues from an Islamic perspective
